The Arc

Stage Design for Wibbly Woods

The Arc was designed to harmonize with its forest surroundings by integrating biophilic principles. Inspired by the angles of neighboring trees and the natural geometry of the site, the structure enhanced the environment rather than detracting from it. The stage featured bioplastic screens for the booth’s back wall, creating a soft, biodegradable border between the audience and the performer, while the timber frame and use of sustainable materials allowed it to merge seamlessly with the clearing.

The design prioritized dual functionality, transitioning between day and night. By day, sunlight filtered through the canopy to create an inviting atmosphere, while at night, the stage transformed into an immersive space with surrounding decking and scaffolding platforms. These elements allowed the audience to interact with the DJ on multiple levels, breaking down barriers between performer and crowd.
